Akhil Shanishetti
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Bio
Originally from India, I went to high school in Thailand and my family currently lives in South Korea. At Northwestern, I study Chemical Engineering and am pursuing the Kellogg Managerial Analytics Certificate. My passion lies in the intersection of data science/management consulting and the healthcare space and I look forward to a career that will empower me to make an impact on my surrounding community. I am very grateful to work as an undergraduate research assistant at the Amaral Lab where I’m determining the optimal user-friendly arrangement of web pages of an app used by physicians in ICUs.
I am also very involved on campus where I serve as the vice-president of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Northwestern chapter, a peer adviser, an analyst for the consulting branch of the Institute for Student Business Education, and the director of academic affairs at Slivka residential college of science and engineering. I really enjoy meeting new people at Northwestern and fostering long-term relationships. Some of my interests outside academics include playing badminton, soccer, volleyball, singing, watching Bollywood movies, and consuming a diverse range of dairy products. Go ‘Cats!
